International Folklore Festival “Rahovche”

IFF “Rahovche”
is the culmination of the Community Centre “Bratya Grancharovy’s” activity for every creative season. This is the biggest and the greatest event which the Community Centre is organizing. It’s one of a kind in region Veliko Turnovo. On the first festival there were three foreign groups – 2 from Serbia, 1 from Poland and 3 Bulgarian.

The Festival`sInternational Folklore Festival "Rahovche" was established for the first time in 2005. The festival is held annually in June. Organized by the Cultural center "Brothers Grancharovi". The main purpose of the festival is a meeting of folk dances from different countries, giving the opportunity to develop and present their talent in Bulgaria. The festival creates contacts between the participating groups and included in the calendar of IOV.
Children Folk group "Rahovche" and Folklore Company "Sider Voivoda"hosts the National Children Festival of Performing Arts "Rahovche" and the International Folklore festival "Rahovche" every year in June.
Rahovche GroupChildren Folk Group "Rahovche" was established in 1997. The objective of the group is not only to prepare dancers for the adult group – Folklore Company quotSider Voivoda", but also to teach children the basics of Bulgarian folk dances and to develop their national spirit. Today in the group there are more than 120 kids organized in 4 age groups. Every group performs dances characteristic of their age. The dances are based on popular traditional children games and songs from all 6 ethnographic areas in Bulgaria.
Folklore Company "Sider Voivoda"Folklore Company "Sider Voivoda" is an amateur folk group, which consists of an orchestra of folk instruments, a choir and a dance group. The three parts interact to create an unforgettable performance of ethnic rhythms, movements and melodies. Our main purpose is to preserve and enrich the traditional art of folklore – music, dances and songs.The repertoire of Folklore Company "Sider Voivoda" covers folklore works from all Bulgarian ethnographic areas: Mizia, Trakia, Shopsko, Dobroudzha, Pirinsko, Rodopsko. It includes both little chamber plays and big mass stagings.
